NEW DELHI: Indian para-athletes Praveen Kumar and Unni Renu achieved a remarkable double podium finish in the men’s high jump event of the Asian Para Games in Hangzhou on Monday.
Praveen clinched the gold medal for India with an impressive jump of 2.02 meters, securing the top position. Meanwhile, Unni demonstrated his skill by earning a well-deserved bronze medal for India in the men’s high jump T64 final, leaping to a height of 1.95 meters.

These victories have significantly contributed to India’s overall success at the event, with a total of 17 medals, including six gold, six silver, and five bronze medals.
India’s dominance extends to athletics, where they have secured 11 of these medals, including five gold, three silver, and three bronze medals.
India’s performance at the Para Asian Games has been exceptional, with the country’s best-ever performance being the 72 medals achieved in the 2018 edition held in Indonesia.
The fourth Asian Para Games will continue until October 28, showcasing the incredible achievements and talents of para-athletes from across the region.
